Seed the Change!
Seeds of Diversity Canada estimates that nearly 75% of vegetable varieties have disappeared. 25% of native plants are at risk and diversity in flower gardens is shrinking.
We are working to restore the biodiversity that was once common in gardens, farms, and nature around Canada!

About Cosmos Mix
Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus and Cosmos sulphureus) is a stunning, easy-to-grow annual known for its long-lasting, vibrant blooms and graceful, airy foliage. This mix produces a variety of colours, including pink, orange, and white, adding charm and movement to flower beds and wildflower gardens. With tall, elegant stems reaching up to 2m, cosmos makes a striking addition to pollinator gardens and cut flower arrangements.
These hardy plants thrive in dry conditions and require minimal care, making them perfect for low-maintenance landscapes. Regular deadheading or picking encourages continuous blooms from summer through autumn.
Where Can You Grow Cosmos Mix?
Cosmos thrives in Zones 3-9, preferring full sun and well-drained soil. It is ideal for wildflower meadows, cottage gardens, and cut flower beds, and also grows well in large containers.
History and Historical Uses
Native to Mexico and Central America, cosmos has long been cultivated for its ornamental beauty and ability to attract pollinators. Traditionally grown in cottage gardens and wildflower meadows, its drought tolerance and long bloom time have made it a favourite among gardeners worldwide.

How to Grow and Harvest Cosmos Mix

-
Harvesting:
- Pick flowers regularly to stimulate new blooms.
- Cut stems for bouquets when flowers are fully open for long-lasting arrangements.
- Maintenance: Allow some flowers to set seed for self-seeding and natural regrowth next season.
Seed Saving Tips for Future Supply
