Originally grown widely in North America, they remain a staple for autumn festivities and family gardening.

Canadian Zone Information
Zones 8-9: Direct sow outdoors after the last frost date; harvest mid to late autumn.
Zones 5-7: Start seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost; transplant outdoors when weather warms.
Zones 3-4: Sow seeds indoors in early spring; transplant outdoors after frost danger passes, mulch to warm soil.

How to Grow and Harvest Jack O Lantern Pumpkin

  • Planting: Sow seeds 2.5cm (1in) deep, space plants 90-120cm (3-4ft) apart. Allow room for vines to spread.
  • Watering: Provide consistent watering, particularly when fruiting.
