Metchosin Farm is a certified organic seed farm and plant nursery located 30 minutes outside Victoria in Metchosin, BC.

We host summer camps, K-12 students and international students, in both English and French, and are inspired to welcome more people to the farm to share our important knowledge and connection to land in a way that supports ecological education and reconciliation through doing, together.

About The Tour:

Metchosin Farm offers practical, hands-on learning that lets students learn about food security, ecology and seeds through direct experience. Students are guided through our diverse working farm, surrounding oceanside forest, and invited to help with farm tasks.

We have watched countless times how hands-on interactions with plants can have a profound impact on students, and how the awareness of how we as humans co-evolved with different plant species can transform a student’s idea of themselves, their family history and their connection with and stewardship of their home place.

Owner Fiona Hamersley Chambers works professionally as an ethnobotanist, with a specialization in the revitalization of traditional plant food systems and practices, of both Indigenous peoples and newcomers. Her farm staff are all experienced in hosting volunteers, and safely supporting them in their exploration of the farm.
