Where Can You Grow English Spearmint?

How to Grow and Harvest English Spearmint

• Planting: Space root stock 30-45cm (12-18in) apart in moist, well-drained soil.
• Watering: Keep soil evenly moist, especially in hot weather.
• Harvesting:
  • Pick young leaves regularly for the best flavour.
  • Harvest before flowering for maximum potency.
• Maintenance: Trim plants regularly to control spreading and encourage new growth.

Root Division for Future Supply

• Allow Plants to Mature: Established plants produce rhizomes that spread underground.
• Divide Roots: Every 2-3 years, lift and divide root clumps to propagate new plants.
• Replant or Share: Replant divisions in new locations or share with other gardeners.
