Silvery Fir Tomato

Silvery Fir Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Silvery Fir is a uniquely beautiful and highly productive tomato variety, distinguished by its delicate, finely-divided foliage that resembles a fern. Compact and well-suited to patio planters or ornamental beds, this early producer yields clusters of flavourful red fruit that are ideal for fresh eating or light cooking. The fruit ripen well off the vine, allowing for an extended harvest, even in shorter seasons.

Where Can You Grow Silvery Fir Tomato?
Thriving in Zones 3-9, this determinate variety is ideal for raised beds, containers, and small-space gardens. Prefers full sun and well-drained, fertile soil.

History and Historical Uses
Silvery Fir is a Russian heirloom prized for both its unique appearance and its ability to produce flavourful tomatoes in a compact form. Its ornamental foliage and reliable production have made it a favourite among gardeners who want both beauty and yield from a single plant.

Store: Once fully dry, store in a cool, dry, dark place; viable for 4–6 years.
