About Oregon Sugar Pod Pea
This beloved variety is everything you want in a snow pea—large, sweet, crisp, and highly productive. Oregon Sugar Pod produces broad, flat pods that are excellent eaten raw as a crunchy garden snack, tossed fresh into salads, or cooked lightly in stir-fries. The entire young plant is edible, including the tender leafy stems and tendrils, making it a dual-purpose crop for both food and visual appeal. This is a low-maintenance and rewarding variety that thrives in cool weather and will keep producing if harvested regularly.

Where Can You Grow Oregon Sugar Pod Pea?
Well-suited to Zones 3–9, Oregon Sugar Pod thrives in cool weather and well-drained soil. It grows well in raised beds, garden plots, or containers with vertical support.

History and Historical Uses
Snow peas have been a staple in both traditional and modern cuisine for generations. The Oregon Sugar Pod variety was bred for sweetness and large pod size, and has been a favourite among market growers and home gardeners alike for decades due to its consistent yield and flavour.
