Shoofly/Black Chinese Lantern

A striking annual for the ornamental garden, this plant produces loads of dark purple flowers held aloft on 1.5 metre stems. Similar to Chinese lanterns, the dried papery seed husks can be left on the plants to provide decoration for the winter garden or harvested for crafts.
