Zones 8-9: Transplant directly outdoors after the last frost; thrives in sunny, sheltered spots.
Zones 5-7: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost; transplant outdoors after danger of frost.
Zones 3-4: Start seeds indoors and transplant to protected outdoor areas or greenhouse for best results.
