Our Story
We are a 10-acre seed farm located in beautiful rural Metchosin on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
Established in 2004, we grow 300+ varieties of seed products including unusual food crops, roots/tubers, native plants and perennial fruits.
We are a woman owned company, founded by ethnobotanist Fiona Hamersley Chambers.
We are grateful to farm, live and raise our family on the ancestral lands of the Beecher Bay Scia’new First Nation and acknowledge the 1000's of years of land stewardship that produced the soils that we now steward.

We offer 100% Canadian Grown, Certified Organic (IOPA #1964) Forage and Enclosure Enrichment for small pets!
Metchosin Farm started the Forager Pet in 2022 in response to a customer request, and we are the only Canadian supplier of this high quality product!
As an experienced seed farm growing 300+ plant varieties we are able to provide uniquely diverse and high quality pet forage unavailable from any 'normal' supplier. :-)

Colorado Columbines my experiences
All the seeds sprouted just waiting for the flowers.
Soon from the looks of things.
Learned about columbines riding above the tree line in the Colorado Rockies many years ago. They were everywhere. Beautiful

Sunchoke order
The sunchokes were very well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. I was impressed at how healthy they were. They are growing well and I look forward to tasting them for the first time.

I am just getting emergence now and will report back when I have plants that are 4 to 8 inches tall....fingers crossed..

I am always impressed how quickly Metchosin Farms responds to orders. This time, I am trying Purple Orach, as green Orach is delicious, and just keeps producing. Better than spinach or chard steamed!!
Scotch Bonnet
I was actually looking for the plant. Too late for me to plant this season. Home Depot normally carries them from Burpee, but haven’t seen any yet.

Ordered scotch bonnet seeds. They were able to correct my address to the correct one. Quick communication and my seeds came 10 days later. Lots of seeds in my package. I will easily order from them again. Zero issues and zero complaints
Tobacco seeds sprouted!
I read it can be difficult to get tobacco seeds to germinate but I used those little seed starter pods and they have all begun to spring up no problem !
